چکیده
The helminth fauna of brown trout (Salmo trutta) in the Norwegian subalpine lake, Øvre Heimdalsvatn was studied by examination gills, eyes, body cavity, kidney, stomach, pyloric region and intestine a total 112 randomly sampled June, July, September 2011. Ten species, Discocotyle sagittata, Phyllodistomum umblae, Crepidostomum farionis, C. metoecus, Diplostomum sp., Proteocephalus Cyathocephalus truncatus, Dibothriocephalus ditremus, D. dendriticus, Capillaria sp. were identified. These data compared to from period 1969 1972, just after first record European minnow (Phoxinus phoxinus) 1969. All ten except also present 1969–72. However, few major changes infection intensities have occurred. cestode ditremus trematode both with piscivorous birds as final hosts, had markedly higher relative densities (abundance) 2011 1969–72, while two species showed substantial decline densities. We suggest that these may be indirectly related establishment subsequent population increase lake. abundance minnows increased food basis for birds, primarily mergansers black-throated diver now regularly forage In addition, there been littoral invertebrate community, including serving intermediate hosts some parasites.

Parasitic fauna of the lake brown trout, Salmo trutta lacustris (Salmonidae), a little known endemic fish from Polish waters.
The lake brown trout is a salmonids fish regarded as a stationary form of the migratory trout. Within 2003-2004, 31 lake brown trout (Salmo trutta lacustris L.) from Lake Wdzydze (Poland), were examined for the presence of parasites following commonly used procedures. The parasites found represented Digenea: Diplostomum sp., Posthodiplostomum cuticola (Nordmann, 1832), Sphaerostomum globiporum ...
متن کاملInfection ecology of Philometra ovata (Nematoda: Philometridae) in a wild European minnow (Phoxinus phoxinus) population in Finland.
Seasonal life cycle of body cavity dwelling (BCD) Philometra ovata (Nematoda: Philometridae) has been reported in southern and central European countries, but its swim bladder dwelling (SBD) stage and northern populations have remained unstudied. In this study, we investigated the seasonal life cycle and infection ecology of P. ovata in both swim bladder and body cavity in the European minnow (...
متن کاملTemperature-dependent development of cardiac activity in unrestrained larvae of the minnow Phoxinus phoxinus.
The minnow (Phoxinus phoxinus) was raised up to the stage of swim bladder inflation at temperatures between 10 degrees C and 25 degrees C, and the time of development significantly decreased at higher temperatures. Accordingly, initiation of cardiac activity was observed at day 2 in 25 degrees C animals and at day 4 in 12.5 degrees C animals. Only a minor increase in body mass was observed duri...
متن کاملMorphological differences in the skin of marble trout Salmo marmoratus and of brown trout Salmo trutta.
Despite being genetically very closely related, the marble trout Salmo marmoratus and the brown trout Salmo trutta exhibit marked phenotypic differences, particularly with regard to skin pigmentation. Histological analysis of skin from the head and gill cover of differently aged individuals of the two species was carried out in order to characterize differences in skin structure. The basic stru...
متن کاملThe central nervous control of colour change in the minnow (Phoxinus phoxinus L.). II. Tectal ablations in normal fish.
Except for a few observations by von Frisch (1911), Dijkgraaf (1949), and Wichers (cited by Healey, 1957), no work has been done on the central nervous control of colour change, anterior to the medulla oblongata. Von Frisch performed a series of experiments in which he stimulated various parts of the minnow brain. After negative results from the cerebellum and the optic tectum he concluded that...
